About the Group
Agile Circuit Technology Group is a growing, UK-based group of printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing, PCB assembly and box-build businesses, committed to becoming a sector-defining force in electronics contract manufacturing. With annual turnover of £36m, Agile has an ambitious growth and improvement strategy in place. With a strong leadership team and investor backing, we are implementing the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) to drive clarity, accountability, and operational excellence across our group.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and respected Non-Executive Director (NED) from the electronics industry—ideally with operational or technical expertise in the PCB sector—to join our board of directors. This is a strategic appointment aimed at strengthening our board’s industry insight and supporting our growth journey.
Board Composition
- Group CEO (Executive Director)
- Three Investor Representatives (Non-Executive Directors)
- New NED (Industry Expert – this role)
Key Responsibilities
- Attend four quarterly half-day board meetings per year (at least one in-person at a group factory in Newbury or Reading).
- Provide independent challenge and strategic guidance and industry insight on:
- Operational and manufacturing improvement initiatives.
- Technology investments and capability development.
- Market expansion, commercial strategy and customer sector focus.
- Merger and acquisition opportunities and integration.
- Act as a trusted sounding board for the CEO and leadership team.
- Support strong governance, compliance and group-wide risk management.
- Champion a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- Ensure that all decisions are in line with our defined Group values and behaviours.
- Be available on an ad hoc basis to advise the Group CEO and leadership team on key decisions, challenges, and opportunities.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven leadership experience in the electronics or PCB manufacturing sector.
- Strong understanding of operations, engineering, or technical delivery in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior board or advisory experience (NED, advisor, or senior executive).
- A balanced and independent strategic thinker with the ability to constructively challenge and support in equal measure.
- Commercially astute with understanding of high reliability customer sectors (e.g. aerospace, defence).
- Demonstrated commitment to building a people-centred culture, championing high employee engagement, leadership development and Agile’s ambition to be an employer of choice.
- Understands how investment in people, safety, skills and wellbeing drives productivity, quality and long-term success in industrial improvements.
- Available and willing to engage beyond formal board meetings when needed.
Time Commitment
Quarterly board meetings (half-day each; one in-person annually).
Ad hoc availability to support the board and leadership team as needed.
Remuneration
- Attractive NED remuneration aligned with experience and level of contribution.
- Expenses covered for in-person meetings.
